Waterfall Through Purple Blossom

Chinese Landscape with Blossoming Trees

A waterfall dropping through banks of purple and magenta blossom, with ink rock below. The most colorful vertical here.

The blossom is built from dabs of wet color that spread into one another, so the trees read as clouds of pink and violet rather than as individual flowers. The water is left as bare paper, cut through the middle of the sheet.

This is the piece for a room that needs one strong note of color: a pale bedroom, a powder room, a hallway painted in a neutral. It is also a natural pair with Spring Hills in Blue and Green, hung at the same height.

Mounted on a gold-toned silk surround with a slim dark frame, ready to hang. No glass.
