Peaks Above a Red Bridge

Chinese Blue-and-Green Landscape

Tall green peaks, pines, mist, and one small red bridge to give the eye somewhere to land. Framed in black with a sky-blue silk mount.

This is the classic blue-and-green manner: mineral greens laid over ink outlines, with white cloud drifting between the ranges. The painter has built the picture upward in stages, so it rewards being hung where you can stand back from it.

The silk surround is a soft teal that reads as a band of color in its own right. Against a white wall it looks crisp; against a dark wall the whole thing glows.

Framed in black lacquered wood with a pair of brass hangers at the top rail. Glazed.
