About
A small online gallery for Asian works of art.
Easton Gallery sells Asian works of art to people furnishing homes, and to the designers who help them. We are online only. There is no showroom to visit, no auction, and no premium: the price on the page is the price.
How we choose
We buy for the wall, not for the catalogue. A painting has to do three things: hold up from across the room, reward a closer look, and be honest about what it is. Most of what we are offered fails the third test, and we pass on it.
What is left is a short list. We would rather offer twelve paintings we can describe in full than a hundred we cannot.
What is available now
At present the gallery holds twelve hand-painted Chinese paintings on paper, priced between $420 and $760. They are contemporary decorative works: painted by hand, not printed; not antiques; not attributed to any named artist; not limited editions; and not investments. They are good pictures for real rooms, and we describe them as exactly that. The details are set out in What You Are Buying.
Other categories we handle from time to time, among them ceramics, scholar's objects and furniture, are not listed on the site at present. If you are looking for something in particular, ask.
How to buy
Write to info@easton-gallery.com with the reference number. We reply the same working day with any further photographs you want, a note on the mount or frame, and a shipping quote. If you would like a wall check, send a photograph of the room and the wall's measurements, and we will mock the painting up to scale.
When you are ready we send an invoice by email, payable by card or bank transfer. The painting ships insured within three working days, and you have fourteen days after delivery to change your mind for any reason.
Who we work with
Private clients furnishing a house or an apartment; interior designers and decorators buying for a scheme; home stagers who need a wall filled for a season; and hotels, restaurants and offices that want something better than a print. The trade page sets out how we work with designers.
We ship from the United States and deal with clients worldwide by email.
In one line
Hand-painted Chinese paintings for the home, sold online with the price on the page, described without exaggeration.
What we will not do
Give a painting a date it does not have. Put an artist's name on it. Call it rare, museum-quality or an investment. Under-declare a value for customs. Sell you a painting that we think will not suit your wall.
