Chinese Blue-and-Green Landscape

The palette here is unusually light: pale greens, a wash of pink on the far peaks, and blue water with the paper showing through. It is a spring picture, and it lifts a room that gets little direct sun.

The yellow silk mount is part of the effect and should be left visible. Hung as a pair with another tall piece it frames a doorway; alone, it suits a stairwell or the narrow wall between two windows.
