Pines on the High Pass

Chinese Ink Landscape

Twisting pines, a waterfall, and heavy ink with a warm ochre wash. The most traditional landscape in the group, and the quietest.

The brushwork is bold and dry, and the pines are drawn with real force. Ochre and a little green warm up the rock. This is a painting for a study, a library, or a dining room with dark wood, where it will look as though it has always been there.

It hangs in a tan linen mount with a white inner mat and a plain wood frame. The proportions are tall and narrow, close to one to three.

Glazed. Hangs from a single wire.
